Set up your Localite listing in 4 easy steps:
1. Detemine Eligibility
The Localite invites Canadian Small Businesses in the fashion, accessories, self care, baby/kids and home decor sectors that meet the following Canadian Made criteria:
Independent, privately held, Canadian owned businesses. At least 50% of the products must be produced in Canada. Shops (online or bricks & mortar) that specialize in Canadian Made products – must have at least 50% of their product produced in Canada.
Priority will be given to those who meet at least one other criteria from the list below to be included in The Localite directory. (Please contact me if there is something that makes your business unique that I have missed in this list)
Sustainable:
- Product made from recycled or upcycled materials
- Product made from natural, non-toxic or organic materials
- Zero waste, recycled or compostable packaging,
- Made from locally sourced materials
- B corp Certified
Cruelty Free – Products are not tested on animals.
Vegan – Products that use or contain no animal derived substances.
Hand Made – handcrafted, one of a kind pieces
Giving Back – Donate a portion of earnings to communities, local charities or to the developing world
Size Inclusive – includes sizes XS to 2X or 3X
Black, Indigenous or LGBTQ2+ owned business
2. Create Your Account
Creating an account with The Localite is easy! You just need basic information such as name, business name, billing address, email address, phone number.
3. Submit Your Listing
Submitting a listing using The Localite is super simple. You will need the following:
- Links to your website/Etsy shop and social media
- Images that showcase your products or tell your story
- Video (optional)
- A description of your business or products – tell us what makes your story or product unique. What actions are you taking to make the planet a better place?
- Listing labels
4. Approval
If your business fits with our criteria, The Localite will review and approve your listing and voilà it will be published online. You can revise your listing anytime by logging in to your account.
Note: Not all applications will be approved. The Localite reserves the right to decline membership at any time for any reason.
Strapped for time? We know your time is precious. We can set up your Localite listing with information and images from your website and social media. You can then make modifications to your Localite page by accessing your account anytime.
